There are two ways one can use to
get to Vandelac's -
- Coming from Gatineau;
on the North shore, by the Freeway/Autoroute 50;
or
- Via Ottawa/Orleans and the
surrounding area on the South shore,
by the Queensway to highway 174 to Cumberland and
the ferry to Masson-Angers.

|
| From
Gatineau - North Shore via Freeway/Autoroute
50 |
| As you can see from the map below,
- The fastest way is from Ottawa across the Macdonald-Cartier
Bridge (near Sussex Drive, at the External Affairs
Buildings on the Ontario side)
- Take Freeway / Autoroute 50 Est through Gatineau,
right through to exit 174 (Chemin Doherty)..
- Turn right on Chemin Doherty Rd.
- Drive 3 km until you come to a T crossing.
- At the T crossing turn left to get to "Chemin
du Rang 5" (Concession 5 Rd),
- Drive about 800 meters you will turn right at
the old church
- Drive on Chemin du Rang 5 for about 9 km where
it ends again with a T crossing on provincial highway
317.
- Turn left to follow highway 317 North.
- Drive approximately 27 km to come to another T
crossing in Ripon.
- Turn left on the Chemin de Montpellier, drive
10 km; go through Montpellier to the Stop sign.
- At the Stop Sign follow highway 315 North; 3.5
km later you will see the entrance to the Golf de
Montpellier,
- Drive another 900 meters, leaving the Golf to
your left : after you see a sign indicating a road
to the left, stay above the coming hill, slow down
nearly to a stop (to be sure there is no traffic
coming uphill).
- Turn left on Chemin Caron and you're there: the
brown and green house on the corner.
Using this route, you will see your last red light
on Sussex at the External Affairs buildings on the
Ontario side. Your first stop is at the exit 174 from
freeway 50 at Chemin Doherty; after that there are
3 stops on Chemin du Rang 5; one Flashing light in
Ripon and one more stop in Montpellier. Which means
that between the Vandelac Tourist Homes and Ontario
there are four stop signs, one flashing light, and
no red lights.
